Those moments of quiet solitude with a beautiful view are such a treasure. The still lake represents the stillness of the nervous system when all other stresses of life are put aside. The Trees are not quite still, but move in a soft rhythm. The sky I wanted to stay calm as well for an overall very quiet painting. I chose not to have a flat sky behind the mountains, a bit of soft movement was still a priority to invoke peace of mind. To come from a busy world into a still one. Nothing is ever still and always fluctuating, but you can have moments of softness.
