So I have created a magical portal on my website that will take you to the more whimsical side of me and my art. I have been creating feminine nymph-like creatures since I was a little girl and I wanted hold space for that work separately where they could tell their own story. I started creating these fairy female figures because I was inspired by many of the movies I watched and books I read that were full of other worlds and beautiful stories and it inspired me to create my own. It was also a self soothing tool for me when life felt chaotic. I would immerse myself into other worlds, and the idea that I created it myself was my inner drive to keep drawing and painting. I have always had that need to create no matter how my art looked. I always knew I would be able to develop enough skill with practice to clearer portray my ideas with time. Of course, there were times I had an immense amount of self doubt, but that never really stopped me, I just worked though it.

My fairy like creatures are always inspired by both nature, and the human experience. A lot of the time my figures have elongated bodies, big ears and flowing hair. I enjoy imagining that they live in the wild and we can't see them. I have met a few people who believe fairies truly exist, however, my deep love of science holds me back from that idea. I just enjoy the fantasy of it all. Creating these little versions of my soul feeds me the creativity I need to develop new ideas for my landscapes. My fae art and landscape art work in tandem, growing and developing my voice and style. I herd someone say recently when giving art career advice, to use your superpower that no one else has, and for me that is the fact that I can create both landscape and my fairies, and that they nurture each other. There of course is also the fact that my landscapes are heavily inspired my my local area, and not everyone in the world will relate, however, my fairies have potential to find a group of souls in far off places and that excites me.
I will chat more about my process, my thoughts and updates surrounding the fae world in the future, but for now, I just wanted to share what I was up to and why my website looks a little different today. I have re launched my fairy paintings in their own bright light. A space that will represent them clearly. I'm exited for all the ideas I have in mind. This is just the beginning.
